On 18 January 2024, AFSIS Secretariat had an opportunity to introduce AFSIS and discuss with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and, Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (FAORAP) regarding the FAO work in Food and Agriculture Statistics and future cooperation
Agensi Pengurusan Bencana (NADMA) of Malaysia has confirmed occurrences of flooding in 17 districts across the states of Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Perak, and Negeri Sembilan. Moreover, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) in Thailand reported significant impacts in Satun, Songkhla, Pattani, Narathiwat, and Yala Provinces from December 25 to 27, 2023.
The Joint Research Meeting on 6 and 8 December 2023 and Site Visits on Rice Yield Estimation using Satellite data on 7 December 2023 was conducted in Thailand with the cooperation of the Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE) of Thailand, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Japan, Remote Sensing Technology Center (RESTEC) of Japan and the AFSIS Secretariat.

Regional Forum on Geospatial Information Application for Agricultural Monitoring in South-East Asia hosted by Yunan University was held in Kunming, China, Secord Segment (Technology, Institution and, Policy) on November 30 – December 1, 2023.
The Invitational Workshop on the Project for Establishing Real-Time ASEAN Food Security Information System (AFSIS) and Development Human Resources, hosted by the Korea Agency of Education, Promotion, and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (EPIS) with the collaboration of the AFSIS Secretariat, was held in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, on November 20–25, 2023.
The tropical cyclone's name was “INVEST 99W” found by the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting (NCHMF) on 17 October 2023. As of 1300 HRS UTC+7, the center of the eye of this Tropical Depression was situated around 15.7°N, 110.6°E, approximately 160 km southwest of the Hoang Sa archipelago. It has been confirmed that the low-pressure area and intensified to Tropical depression status.
