On 18 April 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries of Malaysia, the host country for the 22nd AFSIS Focal Point Meeting on 11-12 June 2024, and AFSIS Secretariat convened the meeting to discuss the organization of the 22nd AFSIS Focal Point Meeting in 2024. The objective of this meeting was to provide information on the steps needed to prepare for the upcoming AFSIS Focal Point Meeting.

On 9-12 April 2024, The Asia and the Pacific Food Security Forum 2024 will be held in Manila, Philippines hosted by The Asian Development Bank (ADB), to discuss actions to ease a worsening food crisis in the region, and to improve long-term food security by strengthening food systems against the impacts of climate change and biodiversity loss among stakeholders in Asia and the Pacific.
On 2 April 2024, the AFSIS Secretariat had an opportunity to visit the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), Ministry of Interior, Thailand. The primary focus of the meeting was to gather insights on several key aspects related to the emergency information-sharing mechanism of the DDPM.

On 23 February 2024, the AFSIS Secretariat joined a meeting by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and APTERR Secretariat on the topic of AFSIS-related issues.
On 20 – 21 February 2024, AFSIS Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF) of Japan, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Cambodia conducted the Workshop for promote rice planted area and production estimation using space-based technologies in Cambodia at Himawari Hotel, Phnom Penh, Cambodia

On 21 February 2024, AFSIS Secretariat attended the online Kick-off Meeting and Project Steering Committee which was conducted in collaboration of the Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (EPIS), the Center for Agricultural Data and Information System (CADIS) from the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), Indonesia and EGIS Korea company limited (EGIS) under the Establishing Real-Time ASEAN Food Security Information System(AFSIS) and Development of Human Resources 3rd Phase – Pilot Project on strategic crop forecasting system for food security in Indonesia.
On February 2, 2024, the island of Mindanao in the Philippines felt the impact of the Northeast Monsoon and the Trough of the Low-Pressure Area (LPA), as disclosed by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). The persistent trough of the Low-Pressure Area led to moderate to heavy rainfall, resulting in flooding and landslides across multiple areas in the region.
On 25 January 2024, AFSIS Secretariat held the 1st Special Directors General Meeting of ASEAN+3 for the AFSIS New Framework via Online Conference in Bangkok Thailand, with the cooperation from the representatives of ASEAN+3 to share their opinions and guidance on the proceeds for preparing for AFSIS New Framework
On 18 January 2024, AFSIS Secretariat had an opportunity to introduce AFSIS and discuss with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and, Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (FAORAP) regarding the FAO work in Food and Agriculture Statistics and future cooperation
