Name of Activities : Improving Statistics Data on Food Processing and Distribution related to agricultural crops in Indonesia
Objective : To prepare and implement of the pilot survey on Food Value Chain (FVC) under the project funded by AFSIS.
Date : 12-15 July 2016
Location : Cadis Office in Jakarta , Indonesia
A Brief Summary of Activities : 
1. To Prepare for pilot survey by complete information of list condition on food and agriculture related companies in the country 
2. Conduct investigation meeting for relevant stakeholder such as policymakers and data holders (public and private) to share the project objective and its outcome, to grasp country specific needs of FVC related data and to discuss appropriate survey methods;
3. To sign a contact between AFSIS and CADIS for corporate above mention activities.

Location for the meeting : Convention hall at Aston Hotel in Jakarta , Indonesia 
Location outside activities : Bandung , Indonesia

1. To Explain about the system of the investigation 
2. To discuss about how to design a Questionnaire for the investigation 
3. To survey some factory in Bundung in order to see and to get the information for design a questionnaire properly.

A Brief Summary of Activities : 
1. To discuss about how to determine the type of questionnaire
2. To emphasize about the objective of the pilot survey and also to guideline about how to train Enumulator properly.
3. To survey a lot of Factories which is located in savannakhet in order to get an information about what they need and what they have.

The 14th Meeting of the APTERR Council, Siem Reap, Cambodia

On 5–6 March 2026, the AFSIS Secretariat participated in the 14th Meeting of the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) Council via video conference, hosted by the Kingdom of Cambodia. The meeting brought together representatives from ASEAN Plus Three countries, the ASEAN Secretariat, the ASEAN Food Security Reserve Board (AFSRB), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the APTERR Secretariat, and the AFSIS Secretariat to discuss key issues related to regional food security and emergency rice reserves.

Google’s “Impact of AI on Global Agriculture”

On 18 February 2026, the AFSIS Secretariat participated in the international event Google’s “Impact of AI on Global Agriculture,” organized by Google.org at Roseate House, Aerocity, New Delhi, India.

The Workshop on Promoting Rice Planted Area and Production Estimation Using INAHOR and Space-based Technologies in Thailand

On 12-13 February 2026, the AFSIS Secretariat, in collaboration with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the Remote Sensing Technology Center of Japan (RESTEC), Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) Japan and the Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE), Ministry of Agriculture Cooperatives (MOAC), conducted a workshop conducted a workshop The Promoting Rice Planted Area and Production Estimation Using INAHOR and Space-based Technologies in Thailand at the Meeting Room 2, Innovation Building, 3rd FL, Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE)

In-Country Workshop on Promoting Rice Planted Area and Production Estimation Using Space-based Technologies in Vientian Lao PDR

The In-Country Workshop on Promoting Rice Planted Area and Production Estimation Using Space-based Technologies in Lao PDR was jointly organized by AFSIS Secretariat, JAXA, MAFF Japan, and MAE Lao PDR under the AFSIS-GIS and SAFE projects. The event was held in Vientiane with hands-on training on 9 February 2026 and a workshop on 10 February 2026.
