On the 4th of December 2020, AFSIS Secretariat has attended the Volunteering activity “Big Cleaning Day” managing by the Office of Agricultural Economics, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Thailand. The aim of the activity was doing good deed to express reverence to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (King Rama IX) as the celebration of Father Day (King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s birthday: 5 December).
On 2 April 2024, the AFSIS Secretariat had an opportunity to visit the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), Ministry of Interior, Thailand. The primary focus of the meeting was to gather insights on several key aspects related to the emergency information-sharing mechanism of the DDPM.
On 20 March 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries of Malaysia, the host country for the 22nd AFSIS Focal Point Meeting and AFSIS Secretariat convened their first meeting to discuss the organization of the 22nd AFSIS Focal Point Meeting in 2024. The objective of this meeting was to provide information on the steps needed to prepare for the upcoming AFSIS Focal Point Meeting.
On 23 February 2024, the AFSIS Secretariat joined a meeting by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and APTERR Secretariat on the topic of AFSIS-related issues.
On 20 – 21 February 2024, AFSIS Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF) of Japan, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Cambodia conducted the Workshop for promote rice planted area and production estimation using space-based technologies in Cambodia at Himawari Hotel, Phnom Penh, Cambodia
