Name of Activities :  Improving Statistics Data on Food Processing and Distribution Related to Agricultural Crops in Philippines

Objective : To prepare and discuss the details of the Project implementation on Food Value Chain (FVC) under the project funded by AFSIS.

Date :  18 September 2018

 

Location : Quezon City , Philippines

A Brief Summary of Activities : 

  1. To Prepare for pilot survey by complete information of list condition on food and agriculture related companies in the country
  2. Conduct investigation meeting for relevant stakeholder such as policymakers and data holders (public and private) to share the project objective and its outcome, to grasp country specific needs of FVC related data and to discuss appropriate survey methods;
  3. To sign a contact between AFSIS and SRA for corporate above mention activities.

Severe Tropical Storm TRAMI (Local Name: Kristine) Causes Heavy Rainfall, Landslides and Widespread Flooding in the Philippines On October 22, 2024, Tropical Storm Kristine unleashed heavy rainfall, leading to severe flooding in multiple provinces. On 24 September 2024 AFSIS Secretariat in collaboration with the Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE) participated in the Invitational to the DG-level bilateral meeting on Agriculture Statistics and the support of the ASEAN Food Security Information System (AFSIS) This meeting took place in Tokyo, Japan, with representatives from Thailand's Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperative (MOAC) along with Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF).
