The 16th AFSIS Focal Point Meeting

On the 24th of May 2018, ASEAN Plus Three Food Security Information System (AFSIS) organized the 16th AFSIS Focal Point Meeting back to back with the 3rd Regional Workshop on Improving Statistics Data on Food Processing and Distribution Related to Agricultural Crops in ASEAN Region (ISFAS) project at Novotel Bangkok Platinum Pratunam in Bangkok, Thailand. The Opening Statement was delivered by Dr. Vinaroj Supsongsuk, Secretary-General, Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE), Ministry of agriculture and cooperatives.

The main objectives of the AFSIS Focal Point Meeting are to inform the ASEAN Plus Three members the overall outcomes and achievements of AFSIS in 2015 and to discuss on future work plan and issues. Whilst the 3rd Regional Workshop on the ISFAS project aims to inform the overview and result of the second year implementation in three pilot countries namely, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam as well as to consider the last year work plan.

The Meeting was attended by the members of the AFSIS Focal Points and participants from the ASEAN Plus Three countries, except Malaysia and Republic of Korea.

On 19 March 2026, the AFSIS Secretariat participated in the Asia and the Pacific Food Systems Forum 2026 under the theme “Feeding the Future, Sustaining the Planet” in Manila, the Philippines, organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) . The forum aimed to promote food security policies, review ADB’s related initiatives, and support long-term food systems transformation.

The 14th Meeting of the APTERR Council, Siem Reap, Cambodia

On 5–6 March 2026, the AFSIS Secretariat participated in the 14th Meeting of the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) Council via video conference, hosted by the Kingdom of Cambodia. The meeting brought together representatives from ASEAN Plus Three countries, the ASEAN Secretariat, the ASEAN Food Security Reserve Board (AFSRB), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the APTERR Secretariat, and the AFSIS Secretariat to discuss key issues related to regional food security and emergency rice reserves.
