On the 21- 22 of February 2019, ASEAN Plus Three Food Security Information System (AFSIS) organized the 16th AFSIS Focal Point Meeting back to back with the 4th Regional Workshop on Improving Statistics Data on Food Processing and Distribution Related to Agricultural Crops in ASEAN Region (ISFAS) project at the Sukosol Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. The Opening Statement was delivered by Ms. Jariya Sutthichaiya, The Secretary-General, Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE), Ministry of agriculture and cooperatives.
The main objectives of the AFSIS Focal Point Meeting are to inform the ASEAN Plus Three members the overall outcomes and achievements of AFSIS in 2018 and to discuss on future work plan and issues. Whilst the 4th Regional Workshop on the ISFAS project aims to inform the overview and result of the third year implementation in three pilot survey countries namely, Philippines, Myanmar and Thailand as well as to consider the next year work plan.
Furthermore, RESTEC attended the meeting in order to informed about Sakura project activities and also IFPRI representative from Indonesia presented the Agricultural Transformation and Market Integration in The ASEAN Region Responding to Food Security and Inclusiveness Concerns to all member countries.n
The Meeting was attended by the members of the AFSIS Focal Points and participants from the ASEAN Plus Three countries, except Malaysia, Republic of Korea, Singapore and Brunei

On 12 July 2024, the AFSIS Secretariat convened an online meeting to discuss the draft Joint Understanding of the 22nd AFSIS Focal Point Meeting, marking a significant step towards ensuring the sustainability of the Agricultural and Food Security Information System (AFSIS). Chaired by Datuk Azah Hanim Ahmad, Deputy Secretary General (Policy) Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of Malaysia. The meeting gathered AFSIS Focal Points from ASEAN plus Three countries along with representatives from the ASEAN secretariat and AFSIS secretariat.
On 28 June 2024, the AFSIS Secretariat was invited to join a significant meeting with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) Secretariat. The meetings aimed to discuss potential collaboration for exploring the LRBFR and to learn from their experiences over more than 10 years of operating the regional emergency rice reserve and the food security-related information-sharing system. which collaborative by Representatives from the Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE) of Thailand also participated in the discussion.
On 11-12 June 2024, the 22nd AFSIS Focal Point Meeting was conducted at Hybrid in Putrajaya, Malaysia. Hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of Malaysia, in collaboration with the AFSIS Secretariat. The meeting was chaired by Datuk Azah Hanim Ahmad, Deputy Secretary General (Policy), Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Malaysia.
